Travel information

Before a postgraduate goes on any trip associated with university business (conference, workshop, etc), you need to fill in some paperwork, get approvals, etc. There are limits on the amount of monetary support available to postgraduates for business travel. The amount is fixed over your candidature, but only a certain portion is available before your candidature is confirmed, following your major review.

If you wish to use any of your travel allowance, you must not make any bookings before getting approval from your supervisors and the administrators. The first thing you need do is get a form signed by your supervisor giving approval for the travel. Run off a copy of the form , and get it signed before approaching the adminstrators for bookings etc. Having your supervisor's approval does not mean you can go ahead and book your own tickets. (If you do that, you run the risk of having to pay your own way!)

Further information

The postgraduate students have their own wiki. Anyone can read this, but to contribute to it, you must be one of the School's postgraduates and have a password allocated. To obtain details and a password, contact the Postgraduate Co-ordinator.
